We’ll be hosting a pop-up market in the middle of Lake Street as part of Open Streets Lake + Hiawatha on Sunday, July 23rd from 11am-5pm, including a breakdancing battle, local vendors, and more. To kick off our 2017 Summer Poetry Series, we welcome poet, essayist, and activist Keno Evol. Evol has competed nationally as a spoken word artist, received numerous grants, and been published in Poetry Behind The Walls and on platforms such as Gazillion Voices Magazine, Black Girl In Om, Revolution News and TC Organizer.
In honor of National Pollinators Week, the City of Minneapolis is offering free “seedles” to the city’s residents, available at farmers markets this week. Seedles are wildflower seed balls that help provide healthy plants – food and shelter for pollinators – in your yard and boulevard.
As a nonprofit, community-based market, the Midtown Farmers Market depends on an amazing crew of volunteers to make the market happen every week. As a small token of appreciation, some Midtown vendors have generously offered free market goodies for our volunteers! Volunteers who complete a shift can choose one of the following items on the day of their shift:
