As a nonprofit community-based market, the Midtown Farmers Market relies on the support of passionate volunteers to make the market magic happen every week. Dig the market? Join the crew!
Market Operations and Community Engagement Volunteers are needed for 2-4 hr. shifts every Saturday May through October. Opportunities include assisting with market set-up and tear-down, customer service and token sales, community engagement, staffing the market info booth, customer counts, photography, fundraising, and other market management tasks. Hang out with some great people outdoors doing great work, get a market freebie as a bonus! Find more information and sign up for a shift here.
Special Projects Volunteers are also needed to help make our 2018 season a smashing success! Click here to check out our current projects and reach out to Assistant Manager Kate Sheldon (email@example.com) with questions or to get started. The market could not survive without the help of passionate and talented volunteers – join the crew and work with like-minded folks to bring fresh local flavor to everyone in our community!
Vendor fees only cover about half the cost of running the market. To make up the rest, we rely on sponsors, grants and the generous support of members of our community. Your contributions make the market happen, from tents and tables to organizing and communicating with vendors to the equipment and training for accepting EBT that makes the fresh food at our market accessible to everyone. The market is an important part of our community and the lives of our customers and it needs your support.
You can donate online, mail a check to the market office (3451 Cedar Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55407), or make your contribution in person via the giant carrot located by the entrance to the market.
Help spread the good word about the work we do! Sign up here to be added to our market ambassador email list, and we’ll contact you a few times a month with little ways you can help out – from sharing Facebook events to soliciting sponsors or hanging a flyer in your neighborhood coffee shop – stay in the loop about what’s happening, and give as much or as little time as you are able.
Each season, the Midtown Farmers Market welcomes nonprofit organizations to connect with community members at the Market through our Community Table program. Community Tables offer a great opportunity for program outreach, awareness-raising, education, marketing, fundraising, member or volunteer recruitment, and old-fashioned community building.
Community Tables are now closed for the season – thanks for your interest!
