The agenda includes a presentation on plans for redevelopment of the 6.5-acre 2225 East Lake, owned by Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS). Following the presentation, the development team will field audience questions.

In December 2010, the MPS board voted to support L&H Station Group’s concept redevelopment plan for the property, a plan that included space for the Midtown Farmers Market (which has operated on the site for nine seasons) and addressed other community objectives. At the Nov. 3 meeting, L&H Station Group will present revised plans in anticipation of approaching the City Planning Commission and Minneapolis City Council for approvals to break ground on the first of several anticipated phases of construction.

Efforts by residents and local government to shape the future of 2225 East Lake extend back over 10 years. Marissa Tappy from the Corcoran Neighborhood filled her bag with kale. She said she was stocking up to make her new favorite snack: kale chips

 

 

 

Kale Chips Recipe

yeild: about 4 servings

Preheat oven to 300 F. Rip kale into bite-size pieces. In a bowl or resealable bag, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, and toss.

Distribute evenly on a baking sheet, and bake until crispy (about 20 min.) stirring halfway through.

Serve as finger food or atop a favorite soup!
