Saturday, May 11th – Urban Agriculture Day

Urban Ag Day + Happy Compost Week!

Join us at Moon Palace Books this Saturday for Urban Agriculture Day! It also happens to be International Compost Awareness Week. This week gives us an opportunity to consider our environmental impact in how we eat, where our food comes from, and how our leftovers can give back to the earth.

At the market:
Visit with urban ag vendors such as R+R Cultivation and Bullthistle Gardens. Learn more about an awesome neighborhood organization, Corcoran Pollinator Projects and get your gardening questions answered with the Master Gardeners. Find educational information on the Hennepin county’s composting program at our market info booth, and sign up for a Trash Talker shift to help look after our waste streams!

In cyberspace:
🌱 Learn more about composting
🌱 Get your questions answered about food and climate change.
🌱Take this quiz to see how your shopping and eating contribute to climate change!

P.S. Don’t forget to bring your mom, buy her some treats, and celebrate an early Mother’s Day at the market 🌷

Where do I park? (and other related questions)

If you are driving to the market at our new Moon Palace site, you may be asking, “where should I park?”. Here are some parking do’s and don’ts for you to ensure your day at the market is hassle free!

DO:
+ find lot parking on the south side of the Moon Palace Books building
+ look for street parking along Snelling Avenue – it will be less crowded than the lot, with easy in-and-out access to the market!
+ find accessible parking spots (if needed) in the back of the Moon Palace building
+ find our Metro Mobility drop-off at the front entrance of Moon Palace Books
+ ride your bike instead if you’d like! Ask about our bike rewards program and partnership with the Hub at the market info tent

PLEASE DON’T:
– park in the Boker’s employee parking lot
– drive through the alley behind Moon Palace Books
